Recently, the State of Connecticut has been cleaning up its old computer system and merging with a new system, MyconneCT. As a result of this merge, Notices of Unclaimed Tax Refunds in Connecticut have been issued. These letters are, in fact, legitimate.

If you receive this letter, set up an account on MyconneCT to claim and verify the refund. In the notice there are instructions on how to set up an account. As the notice states, you have until March 1, 2023 to submit the claim.

Once the claim is reviewed and processed, the State of Connecticut will first apply this refund to any outstanding tax debt owed to the State of Connecticut. If no tax is owed, the state will start sending out checks after January 10, 2023.

If you have any questions about the Notices of Unclaimed Tax Refunds in Connecticut, please contact us or give the office a call at 203-933-1679. We are here to assist you.

Thank you.
