Richard Pavano, CPA
Partner
Rich Pavano has been a certified public accountant for almost 25 years. As the managing partner of SKP for 21 of them, Rich specializes in working side-by-side with small to medium sized businesses, helping them with financial statements, as well as tax planning and preparation.
Rich is proactive and outstanding in his field in all aspects of helping run businesses successfully, from cash flow and reporting to banking relationships and tax compliance.
Much more than what used to be known as a “bean counter,” you can rely on Rich as your company’s financial partner for life.

Michael N. Fino, CPA
Partner
Michael Fino prides himself on helping small to medium sized businesses grow and meet their financial goals. He joined SKP Accountants & Advisors in December 2021 with 12 years of public accounting experience, including corporate and individual tax planning and preparation, audit, review, compilation, and financial statement preparation. He is now a partner.
Michael earned a degree in marketing and sales from the University of South Carolina, and a degree in accounting from Saint Leo University. He is a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs and the Association of International Certified Public Accountants.

Jayne Charlton, EA
Individual Tax Manager
Jayne Charlton is a licensed Enrolled Agent, and earned a Master of Science Degree in Taxation. She began her career as a tax specialist for a Fortune 500 company, closely working with business units. Jayne later moved to the private sector serving individuals in a tax practice firm, knowing this is where her passion lies. She helps clients with strategies to minimize tax exposure, while also improving overall tax planning and compliance practices.
Jayne is committed to obtaining the best resolution possible for each unique situation. Above all, Jayne builds client-focused partnerships to earn and retain long-term trust and loyalty. Currently a member of the National Society of Enrolled Agents and Connecticut Society of Enrolled Agents.

Richard E. Fisk, CPA, MST
Manager
Richard Fisk is a licensed certified public accountant with 10 years of client service in various aspects of public accounting. He provides his clients with the knowledge needed to meet their short-term and long-term financial and strategic goals. Richard’s experience includes corporate, partnership, and individual income tax planning and preparation, as well as audited, reviewed, and compiled financial statements. Richard has auspiciously represented numerous individual and corporate taxpayers in discrepancy examinations with the IRS and state and local tax collection agencies.
Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and his Master of Science Degree in Taxation from University of New Haven. He is an active member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs and the Association of International Certified Public Accountants.

Stephen S. Mirabella, CPA
Senior Accountant
Steve Mirabella joined SKP Accountants & Advisors in August 2022. He has decades of tax, financial, and management experience in public accounting and private industry.
Steve began his career with Deloitte as a financial auditor. His career includes management and leadership positions at Northeast Utilities, a Fortune 500 company (now Eversource) where he was Manager of Internal Auditing and Director Human Resources; and Perricone MD, the global skin care and wellness brand, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Steve was also partner/owner of a local Connecticut CPA firm from 1999-2002.
Steve earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and a M.S. degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs and the Association of International Certified Public Accountants.
Katrina Ali
Senior Accountant
Katrina Ali joined SKP in 2024 with a decade of experience in public accounting. Her responsibilities at SKP include tax compliance services for corporations, partnerships, and individuals and conducting audits, reviews, and compilations. With expertise in both tax and audit, she brings attention to detail and an understanding of complex financial matters. Katrina holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Queens College, CUNY.

Sheena Caratiquet , CPA
Sheena Caratiquet is a Certfied Public Accountant with six years of valuable experience in general accounting. She worked at various private companies in the Philippines, helping them to keep accurate financial records needed for sound decision making. Sheena’s experience includes bookkeeping, budgeting and forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
Sheena earned her degree in Accounting from Araullo University and is a member of Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Janeece Tillman
Staff Accountant
Janeece Tillman joined SKP Accountants & Advisors in 2024, bringing with her seven years of experience in public accounting. She is dedicated to assisting clients with all of their taxation needs, including helping clients navigate business legitimization, tax return filings, and responses to tax notices. Her expertise ensures that individuals and businesses receive knowledgeable guidance and support in meeting their tax obligations.
Janeece holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Accounting from Southern Connecticut State University.

Nathan Borum
Staff Accountant
Nathan Borum joined SKP Accountants & Advisors in 2025 and brings three years of bookkeeping experience and one year as an assurance associate with a Big 4 firm.
At SKP, Nathan specializes in tax return preparation and bookkeeping, with particular expertise in the real estate and restaurant industries.
Nathan holds a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, both from Southern Connecticut State University.
Outside of work, Nathan is active in his community. He attends Vox Church in Branford, CT, and is currently exploring opportunities to join a local theater company, combining his interest for the arts with his professional career.
Silvia Leal
Office Manager
Silvia Leal joined SKP Accountants & Advisors in 2024 in the role of office manager. She plays an integral part in ensuring that the firm’s daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Prior to joining SKP, Silvia spent eight years with Marriott hotels, honing her skills in organization, customer service and operational management. She then transitioned into the financial sector and spent two years working alongside financial advisors where she was able to gain experience filing tax returns.
Silvia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management from Johnson & Wales University and is fluent in Spanish. Outside the office, she is a health and fitness enthusiast, promoting physical wellness for herself and others.

Cynthia Flores
Office Administrator
Cynthia Flores is a third-year accounting student at Southern Connecticut State University who joined our team in 2024. Prior to SKP Accountants & Advisors, she volunteered with the IRS-certified VITA program, where she assisted the New Haven community with tax services.
Cynthia also gained valuable experience working with an entrepreneurial organization in Bridgeport, supporting bookkeeping, social media management, and project organization. With five years of experience in customer care and office operations, she brings a versatile skill set to her role.
As an office administrator, Cynthia plays a key role in supporting the accounting team by managing client communications, organizing tax documents, and assisting with bookkeeping tasks. Her contributions are integral to the firm’s smooth operations as she continues to develop her expertise on the path to becoming a CPA.

Debby Heiberger
Office Administrator
Debby Heiberger serves as an integral member of our administrative support team where she is responsible for client relations, database management, and purchasing. She brings attention to detail and a strong commitment to process improvement and service excellence to her work.
Debby recently relocated to Connecticut from New Jersey. For 15 years, she served as the creative director and operations manager for The Judith Roth Studio Collection where she was responsible for creative design, client relationship management, accounts receivable/payable, purchasing, and expense and budget tracking. Her prior career experience included director roles in graphic design for Black & Decker and a variety of advertising agencies.
Debby earned an Associate of Science degree from Endicott College. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of her condominium association as treasurer.
